Mommy Mish Mash...

So because I don't really have anything of substance to write about I figured why not just dump everything into one post?  A Mommy mish mash if you will?!

I found some motivation or should I say extra love for my husband today and I am damn proud of myself even if it was back breaking!  Yep, I'm pretty sure there is going to be a chiro appointment in my very near future!  That shit was H-E-A-V-Y HEAVY!
So, now I'm totally lol because thankfully, one of my many WONDERFUL neighbors came to my rescue with his snow blower when he saw me struggling to make a dent!  Without him, I think only the sidewalk would have gotten done!  Either way, the hubby is happy!  You didn't think I actually shoveled that did you?!
Needless to say, it's a snow day for the majority of people in Minnesota today; Daddy is at work, Charlie is at daycare, and I'm working from home.  As I sit cuddled up on the couch with my laptop I can't help but smile as I look out the window even if I hate snow with a passion.  There is something about watching the kids running around all bundled up, with sleds in tow, and giant snowmen being built right in my front yard.  Their innocence is priceless!

If I could predict my evening I would say that Daddy will come home, blow up the snow tube, and proceed to show Charlie the joys of the snow...or at least try to!   That ought to be interesting but I'm sure it will make for some great memories...and pictures!

So, I'm totally addicted to Pinterest!  Like seriously, I can't stop and it's starting to make my head spin!  It's just so damn inspiring and it's put me on a "I want to decorate/organize" mood!  Seriously, this house is in desperate need of some TLC but unfortunately due to our recent penny pinching/savings attempt in the hopes of getting a deck up this summer everything else is being pushed aside.  Why, oh why, can't money just grow on trees?

Rest assured, I have however been able to muster up some change on the decorating front and get this, it was a simple and free!  While it's nothing spectacular it's fresh, exciting, and I LOVE it!
I have been craving 6" Cold Cut Combos with Sun Chips from Subway for lunch lately.  No, I'm not pregnant...I'm just fat!  Speaking of being pregnant...we pulled the goalie!!!  GULP!  Considering that it took us 2 years to initially conceive before we are just going to let mother nature run its course...it will happen when it's meant to be!  There is no need for additional and unnecessary stress as that won't help the cause.  We are calm, cool, and collected...that is for the most part!  The thought of having 2 kids is C-R-A-Z-Y!  When did we become grown ups and can we handle it?

We have been in sinus, eye, and ear infection hell...all 3 of us for the last two weeks!  Finally, after some antibiotic prescriptions we are on the mend.  Oh how I can't wait to feel normal again!  That is, if there is such a thing?

I jumped back on the Bachelor train and I keep questioning myself as to why I subject myself to such shitty reality TV?  Like to the point that it dictates my Monday evenings!  This is all I'm going to say...Ben, what are you thinking?  Courtney, really?  Come on, can't you see what we see?  She's totally playing you.  If she wins in the end I sure do hope that you can prove us all wrong and that it turns into a successful relationship because the other women (Lindzi, Nikki, and Kaycie B.) were pretty damn amazing!

I'm dreading my doctors appointment tomorrow.  Let's just say there is nothing I like or feel comfortable about having my moles checked out and removed.  The whole situation makes me a bit queasy.

On the flip side, I'm looking forward to St. Patrick's day.  For the first time in years, we are heading downtown to the Shout House for a Rock 'N Roll Duelling Piano show followed by an overnight stay at a nearby hotel.  I'm pretty sure both of us may consume too much green beer but what the hell, why not?  One night out of the town will be good for us!

Lastly, my apologies once again for a blog that is pretty much lifeless.  I guess I'm still searching for the perfect balance between work, family, and me time.  Eventually, I will get back to posting regularly.

January In A Nutshell

Yikes!  How did that happen?  I haven't posted anything since since December 29th!  Seriously?  Feeling guilty?  Um yeah, totally!  I've been beyond busy at work and because I'm quite literally thrown head over heels into our nightly routine lets just say I'm pretty much spent by 7:00 each night...if not sooner!  So, needless to say, my bad and my apologies to all of my loyal followers...that is if there are any of you left!

Any who, in an effort to get you up to speed where do I begin?  I know, how about with some cute ass pictures of my kid?!
FIRST HAIR CUT:  Considering that Charlie was starting to sport a blonde baby mullet that even Florence Henderson might be jealous of it was high time to chop the locks.  But, in my mind, I thought it would be on my watch, not Daddy's!  You see, when Charlie found the trimmer guards in the bathroom drawer Daddy took that as a sign and went to town...quite literally!

Let's just say there I was putting clothes away just around the corner when I heard the buzzer and Daddy say, "do you want to see what this does Charlie?"  Before I could make it into the bathroom Bob had already buzzed off a stripe of his precious baby locks and there Charlie was looking up at me with the hugest smile I had ever seen!  It was as if he was saying "look at me Mommy!"  GULP!  Tears were instantly shed!

Any who, when all was said and done I couldn't help but notice how grown up he had become in just a matter of mere minutes.  Seriously, where did my baby boy go?
CAR SEAT: As soon as Charlie hit the 20+ pound weight requirement we retired his infant carrier and installed the car seat that the in-laws got for us back in August.  He LOVES it and he watches everything around him!  I think what he likes the most (as does Mommy and Daddy) is that he can now see us!
BOTTLES/FORMULA/MILK/SLEEP:  Formula has been officially eliminated from his diet...yahoo!  Never again!  The next baby will be breastfeed until he's 30! Yeah, I realize what wrong with that statement but I don't care...I'm being totally serious!

All liquids are served up in a tippy cup with the exception of the only and only 8 ounce bottle of whole milk that we give him at bedtime.  I'm pretty sure we may have taken the bottle away too abruptly but after a long conversation with the doctor about his weight it was determined that he was drinking his calories as opposed to eating them and immediate action was necessary!  Ever since, his appetite has increased, pounds are starting to add up, he is learning to self soothe himself at nap-time, and he is FINALLY sleeping through the night for 11-12+ hours!
Every time I turn around a cupboard/drawer has or is being emptied, clothes from the laundry baskets are spread clear across the house, the toys are in the toilet, or Charlie is stuck in something!  To be completely honest, most day it looks like my house has vomited all over itself!  I don't know why I even bother to pick up the destruction that is known as "Hurricane Charlie" because it's a viscous cycle!

However, I do have to say that it's funny when you find things where they aren't supposed to be!  I constantly find myself saying..."Charlie was here!"  Regardless of the hassle it really does make me smile to see him exploring everything!
Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa this fire truck is going to be the death of us!  Charlie has gained enough confidence to stand on the seat, let go of the handles, and say "get down!"  Yes, he is mimicking our commands!  What a little shit he is!  I don't know how I'm going to do it...it's hard to be serious when he so damn cute!
Charlie loves and adores his Daddy!
Diapers:  Size 3

Teeth:  9 including his first molar!  Surprisingly, it's been the easiest one yet!  But let me tell you, those chompers are S-H-A-R-P!

Height/Weight:  At his 12 month appointment he fell 3% below the charts weighing in at a whopping 17 pounds 13.5 ounces and 28 inches.  Needless to say, he is still wearing 6-9 month clothing at 14 months!

He has figured out how to blow raspberries on our bellies and he loves to stick his fingers in our belly buttons!

After bath time he LOVES to run around the house naked and he thinks it is the funniest thing!  I have to admit, it's pretty damn adorable!

He is still pretty much constipated all the time and has been on stool softeners since the beginning of December.  Not sure what's going on but hopefully soon we can get his BM back on track.

Words:  Momma, Dadda, Daddy, Kitty, Get Down, and Uh Oh!

We had to make some changes to the nursery as it wasn't very functional anymore!  Basketball hoop has been set up (Charlie and Daddy's fav nightly activity), changing table and crib have been moved, outlet covers have been installed, and a radio has been put in his room!  Speaking of music, Charlie moves like Jagger!  He loves to dance!

Everything is really starting to click!  I simply can't wait to see what the next couple of months will bring us!
